As the new season begins, the weather is holding us back. Although the sailing season at Blyth Park started over a month ago, we’ve only managed to hold two races. The winter storms have lingered longer than usual, making it impossible to sail, even for our most dedicated members.
Despite the challenges, with the first series (consisting of only two races and two boats) under our belt, it’s time to ramp up the sailing at Blyth Park. The early May bank holiday brings not only the Top Dog race—a competition between all boats, big and small, starting from the harbour—but also the first three-day series of the year.
However, with Joe and Kieran away at the first Dart TT event of the year, the series is wide open. Let’s hope the weather improves, and we can get some races in.
